Mike McGraw was born and raised in northern Colorado. He has a degree in Art with an emphasis in printmaking from the University of Wyoming. He has been involved with ranching and livestock his entire life. His forever love of the outdoors and animals brings a sense of wonder spirit to his work. Mike’s art also has vitality. A feeling of power and aggressiveness he attributes to his years of playing college and professional football, martial arts, and a lifetime of competitive athletics. The lines and shapes in his most recent works evoke imagination, whether its the power, sensuality, or just the idea of finding different subjects within the main subject. He believes his intensity turns each piece into a viewer participation piece. One has to look and fit the pieces together to make it whole. His style lends itself to any subject matter, color and size, from inches to yards.
He has sold his art privately since the early eighties. Including pieces at the National Western Stock Show Coors Art Show and Sale, as well as international sales. Mike has been represented several times at the Smocks and Jocks Annual Superbowl auction. A juried charity art auction at the Superbowl location displaying the work of ex NFL players.
